Stadium money not affecting transfer kitty

"Any money that has been raised for the stadium has not been diverted from Dave Jones' transfer pot," he insisted.

"In the last two years we have sold because we had to.

"What Dave has been told this summer is that he only sells if he wants to.

"We have already identified the playing positions we need to strengthen and he has asked me to bring certain players in.

"I want to make it clear this stadium scheme will not affect the manager's ability to attract the players that he has asked me to pursue."

£58m has been secured into a council managed fund to build the new stadium for Cardiff City. Now Ridsdale can pay more attention the football side of things. The club endured it's worst ever ending to a league campaign with 2 draws and 7 defeats in the last 9 games. If an assault on the Premieship is to happen then we need to be stronger on the pitch, which is the area of the club most fans are interested in.

"There has been a tremendous amount of time and effort gone into this by many people," he continued.

"But what I now need to do is focus more on the playing side.

"Any additional money that comes with a new stadium will go straight to the manger to strengthen.

"We now have a base to take the footballing side of the club to another level and we have not had that before.

"We have delivered the stadium, it's a solid foundation not built on sand. Now what I can do is help build the team to match its new home."
