Stockport preview

City face the second of three away games in a row on the back of a win at Port Vale that has kept the Bluebirds in the promotion hunt.

A win at Stockport coupled with defeat for Crewe at home to Peterborough would see City go second with a game in hand.

Carlton Palmers Stockport are on the verge of plummetting from Division 1 to Division 3 in successive seasons. Only goal difference keeps them out of the bottom 4 and only three points keeps them off the bottom of the table.

City have a limited history against the Hatters. A double over them 1920/21 season was followed by 66 years of not playing them. Then City second and last win at Edgeley Park came in 1987. In total we've only ever played their 6 times. 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats over the years.

Robert Earnshaw's closest competition in the scoring table comes in the form of Luke Beckett. The former Chester and Chesterfield striker has hit a lean patch with no goals in the last few games. Lets hope it stays that way.

Lennie is set to name an unchanged line up.

Stockport County v Cardiff City.
Edgeley Park, ko 1:00pm.
