Strachan looking for first home win

Last updated : 11 December 2009 By Michael Morris
It was Strachan's third home game in charge and he's lost two and drawn one. In fact 'boro have only won once at home in the last 7 attempts. That includes failures against West Brom (0 - 5) and defeats to Watford and Plymouth as well.

Now their home support is getting restless.

"We have a problem at home and we have to deal with it." The former Southampton and Celtic boss said.

"We have to do something about it. We can't let it go on any more. We have to be bold as a management team and we have to be as players.

"I am not going to come out with any propaganda. The supporters don't want to hear it.

"I have to sit down with my coaching staff and have to come up with the solution.

"We'll look at that and there has to be answers.

"And there has to be answers quick because it is becoming a trend and Cardiff are here next.

"We're doing well away from home and not doing so well at home.

"Fans will boo mistakes. That happens.

"They had every right to boo on Tuesday night."

Middlesbrough are 10th in the table on 29 points, it's tight though, that's only 4 points behind City in 3rd place.

Can City upset the 'boro fans once again. We beat them in 2008 to get to Wembley in probably the best away game City fans have been to for many a year.

In the race for the Premier League City could do with another win at The Riverside and help to pull away from one of our promotion rivals.

Let's hope we can leave Strachan still pondering the following quote he made this week.

"There is something fundamentally wrong here and we need to find out what it is."

Start looking after Sunday please Gordon.
