McCormack, 21 has just won his his first Scottish cap in Scotland's 3 - 1 defeat in Prague last month. He is a former Rangers player and scored his first goal for the Gers when he was just 17. He also scored for them in the Champions League in a 1 - 1 draw away at Porto.

He was loaned to Doncaster before joining Motherwell. His first season was plagued with injury but last season put in a full stint scoring 11 goals.

He was a target for Premiership teams Wigan and Middlesbrough in the January transfer window and in the last week has been closely linked to a move to Notingham Forest. But he's a City player now.

Darren Dennehy as reported yesterday is a 19 year old defender. He is a reserve team regular for Everton but has no first team experience. He can play defence or midfield and has rejected a new contract at Everton to move to Ninian Park. His signing has also been completed today.

Peter Ridsdale said: "This is further evidence that we are putting together a squad that can compete to gain promotion to the Premier League."
