Taiwo still has one year left on City contract!

Soloman Taiwo remains a Cardiff City player with one year left on his contract. The former Dagenham midfielder still wants to prove himself at Cardiff but knows his main focus is to play regular football. That may mean more time out on loan or a move away this summer.

Last season Taiwo started the Carling Cup tie at Oxford for City and came on as a sub against Southampton at CCS in September. He then made 5 appearances for Orient since February.

He said: "I would like a future at Cardiff and do well but the most important for me is to play regularly - that's my main drive.

"Any player will tell you playing week in week out is the most important thing and the time when I was producing my best performances was when I was doing that, and getting the feeling that I had contributed.

"Forcing your way into the manager's plans is the challenge of all footballers but it's one I'm well up for trying to overcome.

"But it has been massively frustrating because I would have loved to play more games and I would have preferred the team to be set up a bit more differently for me. But the past is the past and I'm just looking to the future.

"I've played in the Championship, League One and Two so I can use all my experience to push forward and help whatever club I end up at."
