Neil Warnock fielded a strong starting XI at Tavistock on Monday evening and the players delieverd the goals.
Nathaniel Mendez-Lang, Idriss Saaidi and Ken Zohore all scored twice before half time to leave City 6 - 1 up at the break.
The second half, after a number of changes, was a tighter affair with both sides scoring one apiece, Joe Ralls getting City's seventh right at the end.
Next up City face Bodmin on Wednesday evening, ko 7:00pm.
