Second place Preston try to do what Man Utd couldn't do and get a result at Roots Hall. Hopefully the team propping up the table, Southend, don't go back to their poor league form, we could do with them beating Preston.
In 4th place are Birmingham City. The Blues have picked up a decent run of league form winning their last 4 games without conceding a goal. They look to have a home banker against Barnsley
West Brom are in 5th place. They are at home to Norwich. That could go either way. In their last two away games Norwich have beaten Birmingham at St Andrew's then went to Stoke and lost 5 - 0! You'd have to think though that both Preston and W.B.A. should be capable of getting wins in their games.
Colchester Utd, who beat City last weekend are away at Leeds Utd. Colchester and Leeds have only ever met twice before. A 4 - 0 win for Leeds in the League Cup whch is instantly forgettabe but the first ever meeting went down in FA Cup folklore with the 4th division minnows from Essex beating Don Revie's 1st division table topping team 3 - 2 at Layer Rd. This time around Colchester probably go to Elland Rd as favourites with Leeds in danger of hitting the bottom of the table if they lose.
