Cardiff remain in 8th place as they prepare to face Bristol City in the Severnside derby at CCS on Monday evening.
It's the final fixture of a weekend that saw leaders Brighton held at home by Preston with good wins for the chasing pack of Hull, Burnley, Middlesbrough and Derby.
City would climb to 7th if they beat Bristol City and move two points behind Hull who are up in 2nd place. A heavy defeat could see 8th placed reliquised on goal difference to Sheffield Wednesday.
