The Stand: I'll Be There

Last updated : 09 September 2010 By Michael Morris
After MB football matches, Quiz nights, minature statue / pinbadge sales and the forthcoming Ricky Tomlinson charity night we have the release of a new single "I'll Be There" by The Stand to raise money for the Fred Keenor Statue Appeal.

Based on the terrace chant and mining folk song 'When The Coal Comes From The Rhondda - I'll Be There' the song is getting rave reviews and nationwide coverage.

The record has been recorded by some of South Wales' finest musicians and actor Jon Owen - remember his FA Cup final video - quality - and I'll Be There gets a mention (a full 2 years before the current project), Click here.

The Line Up

Jonny Owen (Actor) - Lead Vocals/Guitar
Owen Powell (Catatonia) - Lead Guitar/Vocals
Guto Price (Super Fury Animals) - Bass
Ryan Richards (Funeral For A Friend) - Drums

The project was backed from the start by the late Stuart Cable, his input should not be forgotten.

The song is available for pre order here from HMV

Jon and Owen were on Soccer AM, click here

And please visit the website of the Cardiff City Supporters' Trust, who are behind the plan to build a statue to the late, great Fred Keenor.

Owen Powell will be a guest of the MB soon answering fans questions and there will be some great giveaways. Keep watching.

With my little pick and shovel I'll be there
