Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has tweeted today that he has agreed to the free transfer of left back Joe Benett to Cardiff City.
Bennett was a target for Sheffield Wednesday after a loan spell but Villa didn't want to let him go to a promotion rival! So they obviously don't consider us a threat.
We have agreed to let Joe move to Cardiff for free but not subside any wages . Wish him a bright career there as many SW fans expected!

The 26 year old cost Villa £2.75 from Middlesbrough in 2012 and he has made 24 Premier League appearances but finds himself down the pecking order under Roberto Di Matteo.
