Vine for £2m? Offers for Fowler?

CARDIFF City were today told by Birmingham they can have striker Rowan Vine for £2m.

The former Luton marksman has been deemed "surplus to requirements" at St Andrews and Bluebirds boss Dave Jones is a known admirer having tried to sign him in the January transfer window.

And now the newly-promoted Premiership club have issued a clear come and get him message - and are even prepared to take a £1m hit on a player who cost them £3m just seven months ago.

Whether City will actually put a bid on the table could depend on whether they secure Robbie Fowler, who has agreed personal terms.

ROBBIE FOWLER lands back in Britain today to face an immediate fight for his services from Championship rivals Cardiff City and Leicester City.

The Western Mail understands that as soon as the striking legend and his representatives arrive back from Australia, the Bluebirds will present a financial package to the 32-year-old designed to lure him to Ninian Park.

Fowler has been Down Under considering an offer from Sydney FC, but sources within Cardiff City say the club is optimistic they can win the day.
