Wales triumph in Cardiff to top Euro Group B

Wales beat Cyprus 2 - 1 at Cardiff City Stadium on Monday evening following on from the excellent 0 - 0 draw with Bosnia last Friday, also at Cardiff City Stadium.

With over 30,000 watching the Bosnia game the Welsh fans turned up again in numbers with 21,000 watching David Cotterill and Hal Robson Kanu score the goals took Wales 3 points clear at the top of the group. Cotterill scored direct from a cross while Robson-Kanu ran through on goal after Gareth Bale's sublime pass.

Belgium, who Wales play next, are three points behind having played a game less.

Cardiff had two players in the Welsh squad tonight. Danny Gabbidon and Declan John were both unused subs. Gabbidon was also an unused sub for the Bosnia game.

Wales lost Simon Church to a dislocated shoulder after two minutes and two minutes into the second half Andy King was given a straight red card for a poor tackle.

But Wales, led by a pumped up and passionate Bale, held on for a a morale boosting win that has given Wales a great start to the Euro 2016 campaign.
