Website reaction to Reading defeat

I can still hear myself shouting at Graham Kavangh and Alan Lee.

"pass the &%$£ing thing forward" I yelled at Kav. "Get off your arse" I shouted in Lee's direction.

This is just my opinion but I was hugely disappointed by both players.

Look at the overall stats. Both teams had 10 efforts on goal. Reading were happy to play along and strike when the opportunity arose. They had two serious attacks in the first half and scored from both. After the pre match questions it was Collins that started ahead of Vidmar.

Darren Williams will be unhappy for allowing Morgan the space to go around him in the box and Warner will be equally unhappy with allowing the ball to squeeze through him and into the goal.

The second goal came from Kitson, Williams played an underhit ball to McAnuff and Reading pounced, Kitson took possession, beat two defenders and rounded Warner to score while falling over.

Cardiff went back to the negative uninspiring football we saw early in the season. The sideways movement from Kavanagh and the cumbersome movement from Lee meant we were predictable and ineffective.

The game changed when Graham Kavanagh was sent off. The Irishman stamping his way to a red card. I was 100 yards away and it looked a banker to me. The referee was several feet away and his opinion was the same as mine. Kav off with a straight red card. Within minutes City went for broke and off came Lee, Parry and McAnuff. On came Bullock, Jerome and Fleetwood.

The kids went for it. City changed from a boring predictable outfit to a team full of running and movement.

Jerome scored with a header 3 mins from time and if only James Collins could have hit the target from a late header we could have snatched a point.

Kav now gets a three match ban and it could benefit City, we need to bring in new personell but if not  we will most likely use Bullock with Boland. Our midfield needs refreshing and with Kav out we can now do that.

In my opinion Cameron Jerome should start on Friday against Preston. Good players keep the shirt. Poor players get dropped. On the evidence of the past 3 games Alan Lee must be dropped and Jerome allowed to start.

A first defeat for a while that City must learn from. Play the kids Lennie, you know it makes sense.
