West Ham closing in on Gabbidon and Collins

Reports earlier this week suggest West Ham were coming in with a £2m bid for Gabbidon alone but the club were asking £3m. Now today it's suggested that West Ham have offered around £3.2m but for the deal to include James Collins as well. The club are said to be split over the decision to be made. The Echo claim Peter Ridsdale wants the sale to go ahead while Sam wants to hold off until City can bring in a replacement defender.

Unbelieveable stories are not so unbelievable any more, we've seen how quick Peter Thorne has left the club.

"I am as surprised as anyone," Thorne told the Echo

"I only got back from holiday two days ago and my agent was straight on the phone. I have never asked to leave Cardiff and I hope that the fans understand the situation."

Fans have been expecting Danny Gabbidon to leave for a while. To lose James Collins would be a huge blow. Sam has said how his Young Guns were "virtually untouchable" but money talks and we must not bank on Collins saying.
