Cardiff boss Lennie Lawrence:

"It was a pedestrian first half but words were exchanged at the interval and we showed a big improvement from then on.

"Our recent performances have been getting better but sometimes you have to make sure you don't let in goals while trying to snatch one at the other end.

"Once we scored today there was only going to be one winner.

"We are pulling ourselves together but there's a long way to go and we need something from our next two matches at Brighton and Millwall to carry on the good work."

Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore:

"At the moment we can't even buy a goal.

"I desperately need to get a striker in quickly but when you are down everything to seems to work against you. Unless I get someone in quickly we are in grave danger of being relegated with the lowest number of points.

"We have to try and grind out results and there are still plenty of games to play but it is going to be a massive job for us from now on.

"It wasn't pretty today and I didn't come here to entertain the Cardiff public but until they scored we looked like we could nick a nil-nil draw."
