Whittingham ham has now scored 12 goals this season including 9 in the last 6 games. He is joint top scorer with Michael Chopra.

City are the top scorers in the Division with 30 goals from 14 games, South Wales rivals Swansea are the lowest scorers with just 9 from 14 matches.

The teams meet on Novembver 7th at the Liberty.

"Jay Bothroyd was brilliant, he set up a couple of my goals," Whittingham told BBC Sport Wales.

"Then Mark Hudson's flick for the second was superb. We're all just really happy.

"It's helping having Chris Burke playing wide right. If I get in the box I know the ball will bounce in somewhere and if it's not Chops it's me on the end of it."

This was the first hat trick of Whittingham's career and already it's his best season ever goals wise surpassing the 9 he scored in the 2007 / 2008 season.
