Who next for managers job?

Former Stockport, Southampton and Wolves manger Dave Jones has been installed the odds on favourite for the managers job at Ninian Park.

Jones has confirmed meeting Sam Hammam and Peter Ridsdale last week and the obvious speculation is that he is being lined up for the post.

While at Wolves Jones' record has been well documented here.

But who else could be in the frame?

The usual suspects have been paraded in the press this morning.

Sam's old favourites Dave Bassett and Joe Kinnear have been linked. Another Hammam old boy Dennis Wise. With connections to Peter Ridsdale comes former Forest boss Paul Hart.

Names slightly outside the box include Brentford manager Martin Allen. He is also linked to Millwall. Phil Parkinson from Colchester is sais to have been spoken to and Yeovil's Gary Johnson is admired by Hammam.

Internally Terry Burton could be seen as a candidate but he says he doesn't want the job.

Could Andy Legg be considered? Unlikely, the player himself says

"I'm disappointed for Lennie. He's such a lovely man. That's the nature of football - Lennie knows that. I'm sad to see him go. Cardiff need an experienced manager because of the position the club is in. The manager there will have to wheel and deal. He has to bring in players and he might have to sell a couple more.

"It's a job for someone who has been in the game a long time. It's not a first job for someone, or even a second job. I thought Lennie was the ideal man for it."
