Wigan v City. Match preview

Last updated : 31 August 2004 By Michael Morris
A 3 - 0 defeat last season, previous defeats of 4 - 0 and 2 - 0. The only
joy in four visits to the fine JJB Stadium at Robin Park, Wigan is a 2 - 2
draw in 2003.

Paul Jewel has produced a hard working efficient team who could surprise
many this season and and do one better at least than just missing out on the
play offs like they did last season.

City will have Tony Vidmar available as they try to avoid a 4th successive
league defeat and possibly end up bottom of the table. Not the start to the
season any City fan expected.

Wigan on the other hand have three wins and two draws to sit top on 11
points.

With a two week gap because of World Cup qualifiers it would be an easier
fortnight to wait if we could say we had turned a corner. Defeat against
Wigan and it will be an awful wait until The City Ground and Forest away.
