Williams, 27, would have been ineligable under the loan agreement but he has this morning completed his full time signing for Cardiff City and will play against his former employers. He was at Sunderland for 9 years.

Rhys Weston will be on the bench as he keeps the pressure on Williams for a starting place.

Welcome to Cardiff City as a fully fledged Bluebird.

City have also signed midfielder Toni Koskela. The 21 year old Finnish midfielder is training with City but cannot play until the transfer window opens on Jan 1st. He has signed a 6 month deal and Lennie says

"It's up to him to prove he is worth a longer contract".

City could be further strengthened with the return of Richard Langley. He is expected to play for City's reserves at Bournemouth on Monday and then could be in contention for the busy Christmas period. Robert Page and Andy Campbell could also both feature in the reserve game.
