WMP want City fans banned from Molineux

Last updated : 16 March 2006 By Michael Morris
Speaking afer the disturbances that caused the game to be delayed last Saturday Mr Baldwin said

'I will be making representations to the club and the FA against Cardiff fans travelling to Molineux again because of the devastation they caused.'

He appears to have overlooked the overly aggressive nature of his officers who inflicted injury to several City fans after a disturbance in the catering area below the Steve Bull Stand.

The events of the day have been covered before, a small pocket of City supporters caused trouble at the kiosk, they were in the wrong for starting it but what followed could have been avoided.

Cardiff City have been quick to respond to Mr Balwin's comments

Part of the statement issude on the official website reads

'Cardiff City believes football is about fans, home and away and they should be an integral part of any football league or cup fixture.

'Our fans' conduct has improved immensely and arrests have been tumbling every year.

'We have made a statement in relation to events at Molineux on Saturday and believe Supt Baldwin's suggested ban is unnecessarygiven that he is obviously not yet in full possession of all the facts surrounding the game.'
