Worthington under pressure

It was supposed to be a quick return to the Premiership for Norwich City but the 2005 / 2006 season is not quite going to plan. Instead of sitting near the top of the table the Canaries find themselves fighting to avoid a relegation battle.

If you include the Carling Cup Norwich have lost the last 4 games shipping 10 goals. The fans boo'd the players off the Carrow Rd pitch on Saturday after a 0 - 1 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

When asked about the pressure building on his shoulders Nigel Worthington told the official Norwich website

"I'm fine. If everyone else is as strong as me in the football club we will be fine. What will help is if the supporters stay behind us. I understand them venting their frustration and at the end of the day my job is on the line and I will work as hard as I can with the staff to put it right."
