BB-M reflects on a difficult afternoon v Blackpool

“It is a very disappointing result. We were so determined to win and wanted to, but today we weren’t able to.

“Against a team who defend so deep with so many numbers, it can be difficult. There were parts of the game where we wanted to play quicker and be more direct to try and make sure we could get to them before they got into real organisation.

“We created good chances, and a game like that, you’re always hoping you will take one of those chances to change the shape of the game. The longer the game went on, they were very deep and very difficult to break down, and today we have to accept that we weren’t able to score the goals.”

It was a frustrating afternoon for the Bluebirds, who had 26 shots and dominated possession. Brian stressed that games like this can happen and that there have been positives despite the tough run of form at home recently.

He added. “The players got into good positions, and we created good chances, but the goalkeeper made a couple of really good saves, and sometimes that can happen.

“We’ve scored the most goals in the league. The players have done fantastically well. It doesn’t mean that we’re not looking to improve, but there will be stages of the season where it doesn’t go your way, and today was one of those days.”
