Cardiff City defender Krystian Bielik has been handed a two-match suspension and fined £10,000 by the Football Association following the incident involving a Portsmouth supporter at Fratton Park last month.
The incident happened during Cardiff’s 2-0 defeat to Portsmouth on September 5, when Bielik went over to retrieve the ball from near the home supporters.
An altercation then took place between the Cardiff defender and a young Portsmouth fan, with footage of the incident later appearing on social media.
Bielik was subsequently charged by the FA with misconduct, with the charge stating that he had acted in an improper manner around the 71st minute of the game.
The FA has now confirmed that Bielik admitted the charge. An independent regulatory commission then imposed a two-match suspension and £10,000 fine following a hearing. The full reasons for the decision are expected to be published later.
The incident had also been investigated by Hampshire Police. That investigation has now concluded with no further action, with an out-of-court resolution agreed between the parties and Bielik providing an apology.
The suspension means Bielik will miss Cardiff's upcoming Championship games against Blackburn Rovers and Watford.
