Jack Moylan came off the bench to score a winning goal on his Cardiff City debut.
With the match poised at 2 - 2 Nathan Trott launched a long ball which Yousef Salech took control of to set up Moylan for a quality finish to earn Cardiff a place in Rd 2 of the League Cup.
Cardiff were a goal down inside 10 mins when a cross/shot was deflected into his own goal by Gabriel Osho, Cardiff came back and two Yousef Salech goals (the first a penalty had City ahead 2 - 1 at the break. It could have been 3 - 1 but Cian Ashford's effort hit the bar.
Cardiff again dominated possession and passes but looked vulnerable at the back at times and were pegged back to 2 - 2 when Glatzel finished at the far post.
But Moylan's goal turned out to be the match winner and puts Cardiff into Monday's draw.
