BB-M after Cardiff's 5 - 1 victory

“The perfect end to an amazing season at home. They gave the supporters so many goals and it was such a comprehensive victory, it was the perfect way to end.

“Our intention was to try and show the very best parts of our game and attack and try and score more goals than we have done in our previous home games. To do that is testament to the ability of the players and the mentality to do it, when it would have been easy to probably just coast through the game.

“We’re heading into a division where the Club had a difficult experience in previous years, but I think our intention at the start of the season was to give the supporters a team they could be excited by and look forward to watching play.

“Our intention is to improve and continue, and if we do that, I think we’ve got good players to watch and a good team, so when next season comes around, we’ll be very excited.

“I have genuinely just focused on the match because they were so important for so many people and for a Club of this stature. I was aware of what was at stake and the importance of returning to where we’re going.”

Since sealing promotion at Reading last weekend, the Club has been in full celebration. Following on from today’s trophy lift, BB-M was asked whether he had a chance to celebrate and enjoy the moment.

“It’s good for the players to celebrate. I have slightly a few more years on the clock, so I’ve needed to rest and recover,” he added. “This week’s been very special. This happened so early in the season, relatively speaking, we still have another week to go. We’ve had a chance to really appreciate what we’ve achieved and save every part of it.

“I’ve been so focused on trying to achieve wanted we’ve all wanted for so long. It’s healthy to have a little bit of rest bite from constantly thinking about everything and it’s a very positive experience.”
