Jerome ruffles Bluebirds' feathers again

As things stand now it was a good move for Jerome. He's set for Premiership football after Birmingham's promotion. But at the time the words he used felt like a snub to Cardiff City.

But just over a year on and Jerome's comments have upset City fans again. Jerome is appearing to entice Joe Ledley to consider his place at Cardiff for the lure of the Premiership with Birmingham City. Now I'm sure Joe is sensible enough to know what he can and can't achieve but is it right for another clubs player to seemingly tempt his former team mate? (At least is it right for the comments to be made public?)

"I know Joe is a Cardiff boy, but I think he'd enjoy it at Birmingham," Jerome's reported to have said.

"I'm big mates with Joe and I'd love to play with him again.

"I spoke to him the other day when he was on holiday in Cuba and told him it would be great if he came to Birmingham.

"He's good enough to play at a higher level than the Championship. Joe can play in several positions and he does well in all of them.

"Managers love players like that - and it's why Steve Bruce wants to sign him.

"I'm surprised Cardiff haven't offered Joe new terms.

"I would have sorted him out before he got down to his last year. What Cardiff are doing is pretty dangerous.

"It's pretty hairy to leave it this late.

"He's out of contract next year and another club could get themselves a bargain.

"Cardiff are saying they will offer him a new contract, but they did the same thing with me."

Another departed player having a little moan is Andrea Feretti. The young Italian says he's close to signing a 4 year deal with Sampdoria. He feels he wasn't given the chance to shine in Cardiff.

"I believe in my own ability and after a two week trial with Sampdoria they have offered me a four year deal which I will sign later this week.

"I like Cardiff but I was frustrated with the lack of opportunities I had at the club, I never had one starting place in the two years I was at City.

"I know I could have done a job at Cardiff.

"Any player will tell you that they need a decent run in the side, three or four games at least.

"But that was not the case.

"I scored several goals in the reserves and I then waited for my chance, but it never really came.

"One month I cannot get a City call-up and the next month Sampdoria believe in my ability as a big striker with technique who can score goals.

"It's amazing really."
