Jones hits back at Blackwell

Blackwell suggested that Chopra was "carrying Cardiff" and that provoked a response from Dave Jones

"If Kevin thinks Chops is carrying us, perhaps that's why he's a pundit and not a manager," Jones retorted. "Perhaps Kevin needed him at his last club"

Jones went onto say

"He (Chopra) can't score if the team isn't providing him with ammunition.

"Is Drogba carrying Chelsea, or Henry carrying Arsenal? No.

"Strikers take the glory and their job is to score, but their team-mates get them into that position. Strikers take all the plaudits and it can be frustrating for a former defender like me.

"But that's why they're paid the most money as they've the clinical ability. Michael wasn't carrying us four games ago. What was carrying us was my players keeping clean sheets and grinding out draws."

Chopra now has 17 league goals this season and leads a four way tie for top goalscorer in the Championship. He's joined by Robert Earnshaw (injured for possibly the rest of the season so unlikely to add to his tally), Kamara of WBA and Rasiak from Southampton.

When you add cup goals Rasiak leads the way with 19.
