Cardiff City owner Sam Hammam explains just why he feels Cardiff City will not be relegated - and why he does not feel the need to buy the Bluebirds out of trouble.

MONEY from the sale of Robert Earnshaw IS still available to strengthen Cardiff City's squad.

But owner Sam Hammam won't give the go-ahead for spending until new year at the earliest.

"The money is still there and one thing for sure is that if come January or February we are still thinking 'oh my God we could be relegated,' I will come out with all guns blazing," said Hammam.

"But now is not the right time to spend."

The Bluebirds sold Earnshaw to West Bromwich Albion for £3.65m in August with the promise of cash for manager Lennie Lawrence to bring in new players.

Since then there have only been two loan signings, Darren Williams and Gary O'Neil, with no sign of the cash being spent on the 'four or five players' promised.
