Now three games later and Cardiff have picked up 5 points from 9 inc two away draws while Charlton, after a win at Preson, have lost their last two games - both at home - and both conceding three goals.

Now the Charlton boss is looking to get back to winning ways at Ninian Park.

"We've dug ourselves into a hole and we go to Cardiff on Tuesday night needing to get a big reaction.

"I still think that in the dressing room we've got enough good players with enough experience to deal with this situation and get ourselves promoted.

"We gave three bad goals away today (v Burnley) and it's fair to say we hit the self-destruct"
