Whittingham scores
It capped a 2 - 1 win for Cardiff and keeps the club in the play off places. Now the Bluebirds have a couple of home games on the bounce and four from the next five at home. The play offs are back on again after a relatively barren run.

Cardiff slipped behind to a Clinton Morrison goal but within minutes had the ball in the net but Whittingham's effort was ruled out but just 90 seconds later it was all square. Chris Burke levlling.

Cardiff produced some decent football in the second half and created several chances. It would have been a travesty if City hadn't have won the game after missing a couple of gilt edged oportunities. Peter Whittingham in particular skying the ball over when it looked easier to score.

City were rewarded in injury time when they were given a soft penalty. Even Dave Jones called it harsh.

Whittingham stepped up to score his 20th goal of the season and to earn Cardiff a huge three points.

Coventry managed to hit the bar before the final whistle blew.

Next up City face a home double header with Watford and Sheff Utd coming to the Cardiff City Stadium next Sunday and Tuesday respectively.

Top half of Championship table.
