Slade looking for a 90 minute performance against Watford

C:WindowsTempphp33CE.tmpCardiff's last win was a backs to the wall victory at Watford a month ago (Le Fondre pictured after scoring the winner).

Since then December has been a barren month with just two points to show from four games.

City need to find a 90 minute performance to beat Watford today after disappointing efforts in the last two games.

Cardiff were 3 - 0 down at home to Brentford in the last game at CCS before getting the scoreline back to 3 - 2 at the final whistle. The second half was better but no where near the fighting spirit we saw from Charlton for example on Boxing Day.

Charlton were a goal down to City and a man down by half time in a game that Cardiff were cruising, but Charlton rolled their sleeves up and battered City in the second half and were rearded with an equalising goal.

“It’s another very, very important game for us,” said Russell Slade. “It’s important that we pick up more than the one point. Watford have been in excellent form recently so we know it’s going to be a very tough game.

“We performed well in the second period in our last home game against Brentford and it’s about doing it for 90 minutes, that is the thing. We have to be realistic, it is the play-offs we are striving for still."

To be honest the play offs is the very least we should expect.
