“I’m very disappointed with the result. With so many of our supporters in the stadium present in such numbers, we wanted to give them the perfect day, but today it wasn’t possible.
“I thought it was an even game. When the score was 0-0, I thought we were always more likely to score - their keeper made a couple of great saves in the first half. If we scored the first goal, it would have put us in a great situation.
“There were moments in the first half where we got in good situations in wide areas, which we worked on. Our intention was to get behind their defence and play fast crosses across the box, but we didn’t produce enough quality in those moments which meant we had to rely on shots from the edge of the box.
“We couldn’t find that goal, and Lincoln did a good job of protecting their goal and then scoring a goal on the break. I think once Lincoln scored, they had even more numbers in their box, so it can be quite difficult to find the right opening.
"I think we could have shot more for sure, and I thought we had good crossing opportunities late in the game, which we didn't quite utilise to an ideal effect. The players can improve that and we will, I'm sure.
“The players here are in a good place. I’m very pleased with the players and the squad we have.
“Every time we’ve had a setback this season, we’ve always bounced back and we’ll try and make it right on Tuesday. I think we’ve lost three out of 25.
“The support here in our stadium has been incredible and we were very aware of how many supporters were coming. I wanted to make it the perfect day, but today we weren’t able to do that, and all we can do is to try and bounce back”
