Foodbank Collection: A Huge Success
We wanted to thank members for their fantastic support for our Rhondda Foodbank collection before the Doncaster Rovers match.
More than 700 items of food and other products were donated along with around £700 in cash and cheques. The food will be weighed tomorrow and the donations counted so we will have a final figure soon.
The Rhondda Foodbank volunteers were overwhelmed with the fantastic generosity of Bluebirds fans. As you may be aware, the Rhondda is one of the UK's poorest areas with high levels of child deprivation.
So, hopefully the donations of food and money will help the foodbank provide for those families and individuals really struggling.
We had great support as usual from Cardiff City Football Club, its staff and players and it was fantastic to have Trust members helping out with the collection on the day.
Young City stars Tanatswa Nyakuhwa and Dakarai Mafico also came along to see the collection at first hand. Thanks to them also and we also received a donation from the Professional Game Match Officials (PGOL) before the game.
