Speaking to the Western Mail Margetson, 33 later this year, revealed how he love the chance to get a cap for Wales.

"I'm a patriotic Welshman and I've made no secret of the fact that my driving ambition is to play for Wales. I want to play for my country and one minute - just one minute - would be nice. Not many players have represented Wales at every level since they were 14. That's why winning a senior cap would be extra special.

"Playing for Wales would be the icing on the cake as far as my career is concerned."

As Margetson says he's played at all levels, youth, U21 and B team.

Margetson will start his 11th consecutive game for City tonight and probably has two matches to impress Mark Hughes enough for a call up.

He must also impress Lennie Lawrence enough to offer him a contract for next season. Margetson is one of 8 players who are out of contract at the end of the season and have not yet been offered a new deal.
