- Leyton Orient have won just one of their previous seven Football League meetings against Cardiff City (D3 L3), conceding in all but one game, though this victory did come on home turf in the 2000-01 season.
- After winning the reverse fixture 4-3 in October, Cardiff City will be looking to claim back-to-back victories against Leyton Orient in the Football League for the first time since the 1997-98 season.
- When playing in the third tier, Leyton Orient have won just one of their last 12 league games against sides from Wales (D3 L8), scoring just one goal across their five home matches during that time.
- Cardiff have won each of their last two league games against sides from London and will be looking to win three in succession for the first time since September 2010.
Cardiff beat Orient 4 - 3 at CCS earlier in the season.
“We’re expecting equally as difficult a challenge,” said Brian Barry-Murphy on Thursday. “They’re a very dynamic team and have been very successful over the past couple of seasons with their brand of football and saw how many difficulties we had against them in the game at CCS, and no doubt this Saturday will be equally as tough.
“It’s clear how dangerous they are and how potent a team they are. The focus is on ourselves to be better than we were in the corresponding fixture and prove that we have improved from that, because we need to.
“This week has been a chance for us to recover from the intense Christmas period, but it moves pretty quickly and we’re going to train this afternoon and check in on everyone."
