Matches before City kick off on Saturday.

12.30 Barnsley v Bradford
12.30 Bolton v Huddersfield

And also at 3pm on Saturday

Exeter v Stockport

A case of when, not if.

Depending on the other matches Cardiff could win on Saturday and still not be mathematically confirmed as promoted. At the same time, depending on results, they could draw and go up.

Match Facts

Reading have lost just one of their last eight home league games against Cardiff City (W3 D4), winning this exact fixture 2-1 the last time it was played in August 2022.

After winning the reverse fixture 2-1 in October, Cardiff City will be looking to complete a first league double over Reading since the 2011-12 season.

Reading have lost each of their last two league games and will be looking to avoid losing three in succession for the just the second time this season after their opening three outings.

Only Lincoln City (20) have collected more points away from home in League One in 2026 than Cardiff (18 – W4 D6 L1), while they’ve scored in each of their last 15 league games on the road, never doing so in 16 successive matches in the Football League before.
