General news-Beckham interview.

Warning I am a woman and a Beckham fan.

What a delight on my Saturday night in, curled up on the sofa with a glass of wine and outside the rain pouring. I am a woman, so who better than David Beckham, to give the hour a feel of pure indulgence.

He doesn’t drink, he has no bad habits and he is married to a gorgeous, famous woman, who is as loaded as he is.

The interview with Parkinson, to me, brought the star alive. We saw David for David. By-passing the jokes that are usually throw around about him saying that he is of zero intelligence. It also proved that he can, string more than two words together.

He claims he is not “hen pecked and under the thumb” as most tabloid newspapers portray. He even admits that sometimes his wife’s comments, to the press, give the wrong impression about him; he said,
“Anyone who knows Victoria knows that she has a bubbly personality and sometimes when she starts talking she cannot stop”.

Personally I think it is a shame that Victoria hasn’t recently been interviewed in a similar manner because it is not often that we get to experience her charms. As a spice girl she is often portrayed as the “posh” unapproachable, sultry one. Someone who would be more likely to stick her nose in the air and pout rather than say a friendly hello. David however obviously adores her and for me and for many others this is enough to convince. She and he are simply a match made in heaven.

David talked a lot about being a family man. Since he met Victoria it is true that his priorities have changed. He no longer solely lives for football but as he said
“ The football pitch is where I feel most safe.”
He still wants to be the best in the world.
“I have been voted 2nd best in Europe but I want to be, the best.”

Parkinson went on to ask if he thinks that playing abroad for Italy or Spain is the only way that he will fulfil this goal. David was well prepared for this question, his answer was somewhere along the lines of; no he doesn’t think he will have to go abroad but if he wanted to leave Man United it wouldn’t be Victoria’s decision (as the press would imply.)
He said he wouldn’t leave Manchester because Vicky said she preferred the shops in Milan.

Talking about the press and the interference they have on their lives David seemed calm and collect, almost reserved to the fact that it is something they just have to live with, similar to me having to clean the toilet, I suppose.
It’s different however when the tabloids print stories such as the one where they said that the episode about Brooklyn being kidnapped was all a lie to get the police off his back for speeding. David’s reaction to this was that “any parent out there would know, that you would not make up stories like that” or of any sort about your children or family.

Who would think, the super star footballer, with a beautiful, famous, rich wife would suffer from any abuse? (Sorry a little sarcasm there). Yes some jealous fans and idiotic supporters can’t wait to shout their nasty comments at the golden boy. Well all I can say is shut hem up with a goal David. That’s what you are good at. He quite rightly said that if he was to get annoyed and try to quieten them in any other way it would be him on the front of the papers the next day not the loud mouth Mr nobody.

As Michael Parkinson would say “Quite simply David Beckham!”

Just one last thing from me Do you believe that he doesn’t fit into Victoria’s Knickers???
